This body of work began with a Western gaze on inequalities between countries in the Global South and the Global North. Focusing first on stark visual differences, making arbitrary comparisons by laying contrasting drawn images next to each other. In 2015, the project turned to studying specific countries from which people were leaving, as an influx of people was reported in British and European news. Using press images as reference whilst critiquing their role, these places and the journeys that followed were made into collages, monotypes, and drawn with charcoal and pencil.
